TCS iON Career Edge - Sustainable Development Goals for Educators
About this Course
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals set up by the UN Assembly in the year 2015. With an aim to achieve global peace and prosperity by 2030, persistent issues such as quality education, climate change, clean water, and poverty are among the few that have attracted considerable attention. If not addressed urgently in a collaborative way, these issues will have a horrendous impact on our planet and people. One third of all humans on our planet are currently below 20 years. Hence, it is clear that these children and youth are more at risk of suffering the impacts of these issues, making schools the ideal place for learning about the SDGs.
Where do we start? As the fastest growing major economy today, India is uniquely placed to deliver its commitment towards inclusive and sustainable development. Today's students are tomorrow's leaders and changemakers powering the world economies, policies, and societies. Often, students are already passionate about global issues. Teachers, educators, and school leaders play the most significant role in moulding these young and curious minds.
As one of the many initiatives from the Tata Group, this course enables school leaders and educators gain familiarity with the SDGs concept, with specific reference to India's position, priorities, and actions. This FREE course also provides a certificate of completion.
On completion of this course, participants will understand sustainable development and its related concepts. Participants will also be confident to champion its benefits in their communities and schools. The course will inspire participants on how they can make a difference in the mindset of Gen Next.Read More Read Less ABOUT TCS iON
