Course Summary
This course will provide a conceptual understanding of the technology and the branches of science that deal with Electric Vehicle (EV). The push from India’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan is expected to put 10 million electric vehicles on Indian roads by 2020 and achieve 30% e-mobility by 2030. The auto industry is investing today in new capacities and competencies for future readiness. Taking this into consideration, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship estimates that the EV industry will generate 10 million additional new jobs within a decade.
This course gives a detailed overview of the various Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) configurations and architectures along with an understanding of the energy storage systems and types of motors used in EVs and HEVs. Students also get to learn about the concepts of EV charging and the various types of charging systems. In addition, they will gain exposure to futuristic technologies such as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Grid-to-Vehicle (G2V).
