Course Summary
Innovation and Entrepreneurship are recognised as key building blocks of competitive and dynamic economies. Countries and regions with vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems tend to witness higher productivity rates, leading to increased economic growth and more robust job creation, the main pathways through which the underprivileged can escape poverty. According to statistics released by the Ministry for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 54% of India’s population is under the age of 35 and close to 15 million enter the workforce every year. The only way to consistently create jobs for such a huge population is through innovation and entrepreneurship.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a hands-on action oriented business and management course which introduces students to a systematic, scientific, and an easy process of testing ideas and opportunities that they envision. This course adopts the "Do Your Venture" ideology, which teaches students common paths that entrepreneurs take while launching their own ventures. It gives learners an understanding of the tools and techniques used for generating ideas, allows them to test these ideas in the field and gather feedback. It helps learners understand the entire product development process from the product idea to eventual launch with an appropriate business model. It helps them learn how firms can identify significant existing or latent user needs, and how they can use this understanding to develop new products or services to meet those needs effectively.
Hands-On
Students need to perform hands-on assignments using MS/Open Office tools.
