Course Summary
The CNC Programming Techniques and Practice course gives a broad overview of the programming of CNC machining techniques with an emphasis on the manufacturing industry. According to a report by Grand View Research, the global Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines market size was valued at USD 67.19 billion in 2019, and is expected to expand at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.3% from 2020 to 2027.
This course helps students to develop their competencies in the process of controlling machine tools and manufacturing by using programming in the machining process. It also helps students to identify the differences and faults between actual computer-based machining systems and conventional machining systems.
Hands-On
Students need to perform some meaningful tasks using Swansoft CNC (SSCNC) Simulation Software.
The above mentioned simulation software will be leveraged by the students to complete the industry assignment as well as to complete Part B of the summative assessment.
