Course Summary

Cryptography is the study of design and analysis of the methods used to secure information in the presence of adversaries. Cryptographic techniques are at the core of security in the cyber world. Failure to implement Cryptographic methods, or their incorrect implementation is one of the leading reasons for the vulnerabilities in web applications and security protocols. The global quantum Cryptography market is estimated to reach US$787.88 million in 2025 from US$122.89 million in 2020, growing with a CAGR of 36.3% during the forecast period (Quantum Cryptography Market - Forecast 2020-2025).

This course takes a look at the design and usage of various Cryptographic techniques used to solve practical security challenges. Students will have the ability to judge, use appropriate methods and correctly implement Cryptographic algorithms for achieving different security goals. Students will be able to take up technical/managerial roles in the software industry and the R&D sector in the area of Cryptography and Information Security.

Hands-On

Students/Institutions need to install the below software required for the industry assignment as well as for the Part-B summative assessment:
Open source Cryptographic tools (such as Open SSL)

The above mentioned hands-on configuration will be leveraged by the students to complete the industry assignment as well as to complete the Part-B summative assessment.
