Course Summary

Data Mining is a systematic and sequential process of identifying and discovering hidden patterns and information in a large dataset. On the other hand, Data Analysis is a superset of Data Mining. It involves extracting, cleansing, transforming, modelling, and visualisation of data to uncover meaningful and useful information that can help in taking decisions. As per TeamLease Services (a staffing arrangements company) India will face a shortfall of 2,00,000 analytic data experts in coming years.

Practical Approach to Data Mining and Analytics lays the foundation of the basic and advanced concepts of data mining and data analytics supported with latest industry relevant business case studies. Students can learn data mining skills, tools and techniques in analytics, statistics and programming. This course demonstrates the usage of raw data in the data mining process, various visualisation techniques, and teaches students to perform analysis and interpretation of data.

Hands-On

A virtual hands-on environment is integrated within the course.

Students will have to leverage this environment to complete the industry assignment as well as to complete the Part B section of the summative assessment.
