Course Summary

Data Generation has been growing at a significant rate in the last decade. With proper use of Data Mining tools and techniques, such data can be effectively used to detect meaningful patterns and extract useful information from them. According to a report by Allied Market Research, the adoption of Data Warehousing was highest in the BFSI industry in 2017. The Global Data Warehousing market size was valued at US$18.61 billion in 2017, growing at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.2% from 2018 to 2025.

The Data Mining and Warehousing course introduces students to the basic concepts, principles, methods, implementation techniques, and applications of data mining, with a focus on major data mining functions like pattern discovery, classification, text mining, spatial data mining, cluster analysis and more.

Hands-On

A virtual hands-on environment is integrated within the course.

Students will have to leverage this environment to complete the industry assignment as well as to complete Part B of the summative assessment.
