Course Summary
The Electrical Equipment Repair and Maintenance course equips students with an understanding of general principles of testing and maintenance of electrical equipment. According to a report by Technavio, the electrical equipment market size in India has the potential to grow by $70.69 billion during 2020-2024, and the market’s growth momentum will accelerate during the forecast period. Also, the Indian Electrical Equipment (EE) industry is projected to provide direct employment to 1.5 million people and indirect employment to 2 million people by 2022.
The course is designed to give students a general idea about the maintenance of electrical equipment and systems such as motors, transformers, different types of wiring systems, and so on. The course also has lab components that will give students the confidence to handle simple as well as complex electrical systems.
Hands-On
1. Students/Institutions need to procure the below physical kit(s) required for Industry assignment as well as for Part B section of the summative assessment:
- a. Simple Power Supply Transformer
- b. DC and/or AC motors
2. The above mentioned hands-on configuration will be leveraged by the students to complete the industry assignment as well as to complete the Part B section of the summative assessment.
