Prof. Debasis Samanta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. In the early stages of his academic journey, he started his research in the field of Software Testing. He introduced the concept of Model-based testing (MBT) in software testing automation. Some of his works in this field are highly cited by many researchers world-wide. He has guided research students for thesis work in this field. He was invited as a keynote speaker in the prestigious ACM SIGSOFT 42nd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2010) held in Cape Town, South Africa. He regularly offers popular courses on Software Engineering to undergraduate and postgraduate students of IIT Kharagpur.
Prof. Samanta is also actively involved in the field of Human Computer Interaction, a multi-disciplinary field of research. In addition, he aims to develop efficient interaction mechanisms for people with special needs such as motor impairment and other disabilities, illiterate people, and so on. He has developed a multimodal interaction technique, text entry mechanism in Indian languages, cognitive load estimation, vigilance detection, human reliability estimation and more, using brain signals to bridge the digital divide. Currently, he is working on the development of next generation hands-free and touch-free interaction mechanism using brain computer interfaces. He and his research team are in the process of developing Brain Computer Interface-Human Computer Interaction (BCI-HCI) lab in IIT Kharagpur, a unique lab facility in India.
His other research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Information System Design, Crypto-Biometric System Security, and Data Analytics. As an outreach programme, his NPTEL courses on "Soft Computing", "Programming in Java", and "Data Structures and Algorithms with Java" under MOOC sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India are highly popular among the students in Indian as well as overseas engineering colleges. He is an author of 3 books, more than 60 journals and 110 conference papers of international repute.

Dr. Najumudheen E S F, is a Software Research Consultant whose career spans over 25 years in research, teaching, and industry. He specialises in software engineering with a focus on software testing. His other research interests include program analysis and modeling, AI in healthcare systems, and machine learning.
Presently, he is a Research Consultant and an Advisor to NBS Digital Technologies, Chennai, where he is actively engaged in research on artificial intelligence in healthcare, and machine learning techniques for software testing. Prior to his present role, he held various positions as Professor, Head of Centre for Research, Systems Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer. He has worked at King Khalid University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT University), Chennai, Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology (SNIST), Hyderabad, and Ramco Systems, Chennai. He has served as a visiting faculty in the Department of Computer Science, University of Madras, from 1995 to 2000.
Dr. Najumudheen has received PhD and M.Tech degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. He has published his research work in several international journals, and has presented his research findings at international IEEE/ACM conferences.
