Course Summary

Mechatronics is an inter-disciplinary elective course which has amalgamation of principles of mechanical, electronics, electrical and computer engineering. It is designed to develop knowledgeable and skilful technocrats who can cater to the rising needs of the industry and society in creating innovative and useful products and systems required in health-care, communication, energy, transport, space and defence applications. According to O*NET detail report on mechatronics engineers, the global mechatronics job growth is expected to be at an average of 4% to 6% during the 2018-2028 period.

Mechatronics course imparts principle of mechatronics and how to apply them in practice. This course aims to equip the youth with skills to develop innovative and useful products/systems for the industry and society, be prepared to stay in the front line for various employment opportunities in the growing fields of operations and maintenance of mechatronics projects.

Hands-On

1. Students/Institutions need to procure the below physical kit(s) required for industry assignments as well as for Part B of the summative assessment:

  1. Arduino Uno Kit
  2. IR Sensor Module

2. The above mentioned hands-on configuration will be leveraged by the students to complete the industry assignment as well as to complete Part B of the summative assessment.
