Course Summary
Silicon Technology is now reaching its limits. The industry is now looking for an outbreak of new technologies, based on new materials. Nanomaterials are rapidly becoming the backbone for the next-generation industrial revolution. Meanwhile, on the product front, nanomaterials for the electronics industry is becoming the leading segment for the Nanotechnology market. Eventually, the conventional electronics must merge into Nanoelectronics in order to keep pace with electronics development.
The global Nanotechnology market was estimated to be at US$51.3 billion in 2019 with the market estimated to grow at a CAGR of 14.66% in the forecast period of 2020-2026 to reach a market value of US$131 billion by the end of 2026.
Applied Nanoelectronics is a course that creates human resource for the Nanoelectronics and Semiconductor industry, R&D units, advance start-ups as well as it builds fundamentals for Advance Integrated Programmes and other fields. It guides students about Nanoscale Quantum Phenomena, Device Designing and the required techniques to handle nanomaterials. The course also introduces students to a simulation environment.
Hands-On
The hands-on section of the course helps participants develop skills in Design Simulation, Device Design, and Performance Analysis. The Nanoscale Quantum Mechanical effects are demonstrated on various open-source tools and methodologies. NanoFET and single-electron transistors based on nanomaterials are simulated in a virtual environment. Students will gain an in-depth understanding and advanced knowledge through hands-on projects in the advanced areas of Nanoelectronics.
