Course Summary

The Indian BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) sector is evolving and transforming rapidly. A recent report by PwC (FY 2020-21) stated that India is all set to become the third-largest domestic banking sector by 2050, after China and the United States.

The Business Development Executive - BFSI (BDE-BFSI) course will equip the learners with skills and knowledge necessary to effectively present the BFSI products, convince customers and successfully close deals. This course comprises a series of self-paced learning artifacts, live lectures aided by demonstrations, assignments, periodically structured formative assessments and a summative assessment at the end of course.

After completing the course, learners will acquire knowledge of the following:

  • Understanding of the BFSI sector
  • Roles and responsibilities of a BDE
  • Various banking products and policies
  • Structured sales process (SPANCO)
  • Best practices in ongoing and post-sales service
  • Soft skills such as goal setting, time management, ethics and values, decision making skills, negotiation skills, and teamwork
  • Employability skills such as resume building, interview preparation and the importance of upskilling

Course Syllabus

The course syllabus will be delivered through a combination of learning resources, live lectures, community-based interactions and hands-on experience as applicable.

    Get an overview of Banking and Financial Services sector; BFSI products, their features and benefits; and the sales process.
    Understand the process of primary data verification and credit evaluation for customers. Get skilled on a structured process of sales using the SPANCO framework.
    Master the technique of generating and qualifying leads, and the best practices of documentation.
    Learn the tips and techniques to approach customers and evaluate their needs. Translate the insights to effectively present the product features and benefits to customers.
    Focus on stategies for successful sales closure and effectively handling objections.
    Have a competitive edge with expert tips on ongoing and post-sales services.
    Get familiar with MIS and CRM concepts, its application in Banking and Financial services.
    Understand the basic concepts of stock market, demat account, mutual funds, insurance, along with the strategies to sell investment and insurance related products.
    Explore the entrepreneurship opportunities in banking & financial services.
