Course Summary

In most countries nurses and midwives form the bulk of the clinical health workforce, developing and strengthening human resources for health means recognising that nursing and midwifery services play a vital role in improving health service delivery. Healthcare sector has a huge demand for the freshly graduated nurses who have the skills and potential to perform to achieve patient care standards from day one of their professional journey.

Course Syllabus

The course syllabus will be delivered through a combination of learning resources, live lectures, community-based interactions, on-the-job training and hands-on experience at L&A Centres, as applicable.

1. What is the application process for the programme? +

Candidates must apply on OR before the application closure date.
Verification of candidate details will be done by Academic Partner.
If the application is approved, candidates will receive an approval notification via email.
In case the application gets rejected, candidates would not be able to enrol for the course.
If there is any information missing in the application form, candidates would be asked to edit/fill the application form with missed out information and resubmit.
Approved candidates will receive the Activation Code from their respective institutions to activate the course.
The learning programme will be added to learner’s dashboard subject to successful payment and activation.

2. Who should join this programme and how will this help learners in building their proficiency? +

GNM, B.Sc, Post Basic B.Sc and M.Sc (with no prior clinical experience) nurses are eligible to join the learning programme. This programme will be helpful for those who desire to work in the nursing department of hospitals in clinical and managerial positions to upskill themselves in advanced nursing practice.

3. What will be the teaching-learning method for this programme? +

The programme includes online live sessions, recordings of live sessions, reading materials, simulation labs, community-based interactions and hands-on learning experience at the Learning and Assessment Centre.

4. Is OJT part of the training curriculum? +

Yes, On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a very important part of the training curriculum where the students get to learn, feel and know the job role by seeing and doing things themselves under the guidance of SMEs in a healthcare environment.

5. What is the attendance policy? +

100% attendance for OJT, Live Lectures and Simulation classes at Learning and Assessment Centre is mandatory.

6. If I am unable to progress with the learning due to critical reasons, can I complete my certifications at the later stage? +

It is recommended to complete the programme during the scheduled time period. In case of any break in the learning progress, learner will need to purchase the programme again.

7. What is a Learning and Assessment Centre? +

Learning and Assessment Centre (L&A) is a facility where the hands-on/practical part of the learning programme will be conducted.

8. Once the Learning and Assessment Centre is assigned, can I change at a later stage? +

Once assigned, any request for change of Learning and Assessment Centre will not be accepted due to scheduling and logistics reasons.

9. Due to some reasons if I am unable to go to the Learning and Assessment Centre on the assigned date, will I be able to attend on another date? +

Based on the programme construct and availability of slots, learners can be assigned with another date. Learners should connect with the respective L&A Centre to check and book the slot.

10. How am I assessed and what is the process for re-examination? +

The programme includes two sets of assessments - Intermediate and Final.
- Intermediate Assessments: These are module-wise assessments, quizzes/assignments that are planned at regular intervals through the entire programme duration. The end of module exams have no weighatge in the final summative score of this programme.
- Final Assessment: Final assessment will be conducted at the end of the learning programme.
Learners need to secure minimum 75% of marks to pass the final assessment (both in theory and practical).
Learners will get two attempts to clear the final exam. An exam fee will be applicable for the second attempt.

If the learner is not able to clear the exam in the second attempt, he/she will have to purchase the programme again.

11. What are the criteria to obtain a certificate? +

Learners should have completed 100% attendance for OJT, live lectures and simulation classes at L&A Centre.
Completion of all module nodes (inclusive of internal assessments and assignments).
Successful completion of summative/final assessment and projects (as applicable).
The following is the performance grade structure for the summative and final assessment for this programme:

90% and above: Grade A
75% to < 90%: Grade B
< 75%: Fail

Learners who have not cleared/appeared for the summative assessments can reappear for the same. Candidates will be provided total of 2 attempts to clear the summative exams.

12. How will this programme enable me in performing my job? +

This programme is designed in consultation with our academic and industry SMEs to ensure that the skills and competencies are relevant and makes the learner job ready.
The programme emphasises on enhancing clinical knowledge and communication with simulation and hands-on practice and complimented with internship opportunities in industry, as applicable.
In addition to the programme certificate, learners can also opt for TCS iON National Qualifier Test (NQT) from TCS iON to enhance their job accessibility. TCS NQT Score is a validation of their cognitive and aptitude skills.

13. Is there any internship opportunity through this programme? Will I be placed in the same company from where I pursued my internship? +

Remote or On-site internship opportunities, will be made available as applicable. This is subject to available opportunities and policies of the companies.
Access to employment opportunities is subject to available vacancies and hiring policies of the companies.

14. What is the refund policy for the programme? +

Once the payment is made, no refund will be issued under any circumstances.
