Live 4-hour long sessions are planned every Saturday (first half) in the span of 12 weeks, including hands-on and doubt clearing sessions. Ideal for students and professionals!
This Online Certificate Programme is offered by AI4ICPS IIT Kharagpur, coinciding with the third anniversary of NEP 2020. The programme is inspired by the NEP 2020 recommendations that include alternate pathways of learning, education for all, hands-on sessions, and digital classrooms. The duration of this programme is 3 months, where live lectures are planned every Saturday for 4 hours in the span of 12 weeks, including hands-on and doubt clearing sessions. AI4ICPS is an AI and ML Technology Innovation Hub for Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems, established by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur under the aegis of DST, India. One of the objectives of AI4ICPS is to develop the AI skills of Indian students and professionals. The learners in this programme will acquire and master the basics of advanced AI skills with the help of industry and academic experts through live lectures and various hands-on tools required for the industry use cases. Meet the Mentor(s)

Anupam Basu, FNAE, is currently a professor in the Department of Atomic Energy, Raja Ramanna Fellowship. He has a long teaching career as a professor of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur and as a Director of NIT, Durgapur. Professor Basu has written numerous research papers and books on Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, and Affective Computing. He is an active researcher in the areas of Cognitive and Intelligent Systems, Embedded Systems and Language Processing.

Sudeshna Sarkar is a professor of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. Professor Sarkar is among the leading researchers of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. She leads the efforts towards developing Indian language technologies for the government as well as the industry. She has published numerous research papers on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She was also a member of the AICTE Committee.

Prabir Kumar Biswas, FNAE, is a senior professor in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. He has published numerous research papers and books in Computer Vision, Image Processing and Machine Learning. Professor Biswas is a Humboldt Fellow and a Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering. He has spearheaded the development of several technologies used by industry as well as research labs.

Swanand Khare is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at IIT Kharagpur. He has authored several research papers and books on mathematical foundations in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He has developed several new courses on the mathematical fundamentals in Deep Learning.

Pawan Goyal is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. He has received the Indian National Academy of Engineering Young Engineer Award and the Google AIML Research Award for his contribution towards research in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. Professor Goyal has published numerous research articles on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He is among the most popular teachers at IIT Kharagpur.

Pabitra Mitra is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. He has published several papers and books on Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition. He has also received the INAE Young Engineer Award and IBM Faculty Award. Professor Mitra was a member of the AICTE committee for AIML curriculum.

Dr. Aritra Hazra is currently an assistant professor in the Department of CSE at IIT Kharagpur. Before joining IIT Kharagpur, he also served as an assistant professor in the Department of CSE at IIT Madras. He was also awarded the Associateship of IASc (Indian Academy of Science), IEI (The Institute of Engineers India) Young Engineer and Institute Faculty Excellence Award in 2018, 2019 and 2021 respectively. He is also a member of IEEE and a professional member of ACM.

Debdoot Sheet is an assistant professor of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur and founder of SkinCurate Research, Kharagpur which is an India-based smart medical imaging devices startup. His current research interests include Computational Medical Imaging, Machine Learning, Image and Multidimensional Signal Processing, and Social Implications of Technology. He has also served as Chair of Technical Program Committee for IEEE TechSym (2011, 2014) and Publications Chair for IEEE TechSym in 2010.

Dr. Lipika is a chief scientist at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). She is currently heading research in the theme of Economic and Financial Intelligence. Her areas of interest are Natural Language Processing (NPL), Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, Machine Learning (ML), and Analytics of multi-structured data. She has been awarded the Fellowship of Indian National Academy of Engineering (FNAE) in 2021. She has also been awarded the Distinguished Scientist Award by TCS in 2012.

Indrajit Bhattacharya is a principal scientist at TCS Research and leads the Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Research Group. Indrajit obtained his Masters Degree and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and completed his BTech. in CSE from IIT Kharagpur in 1999. Before joining TCS, Indrajit worked at IBM Research India and Indian Institute of Science. He is also currently working as a VP of the India Chapter of ACM SIGKDD (IKDD), associate editor for Communications of the ACM and a member of board of governors at IIIT, Guwahati.

Joseph KJ actively works in developing Machine Learning models for computer vision, which can continually learn as we humans do. He is equally interested in multi-modal generation and representation learning. His research work has been published at top venues like TPAMI, NeurIPS, CVPR, ECCV, IJCAI, BMVC and WACV. He received the Excellence in Research Award from IIT, Hyderabad twice. He has been a student researcher with Google Research, visiting scholar at MBZUAI, UAE and a research intern at IIAI, UAE and University of Tokyo. He was awarded the AI GameChangers Award by NASSCOM in 2022.

Bhat Dittakavi is a seasoned and serial AI technology entrepreneur with 27 years of global experience, specialising in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Business Analytics. He has an extensive business experience across healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance, investment banking and manufacturing industries. Bhat is the CEO of AI4ICPS at IIT Kharagpur under the aegis of DST.
