TCS iON National Proficiency Test (TCS iON NPT)

TCS iON NPT is a nation-wide assessment for jobseekers and working professionals who want to test their knowledge and skills, and get certified in a specific area of expertise.

About the Test

All TCS iON NPT Certifications are valid for 2 years.
Candidates can appear for the test ONLY In-Centre at TCS iON Authorised Exam Centres.
Certification tests are conducted every 2-4 weeks. However, candidates can purchase the same TCS iON NPT Variants after 90 days of their last purchase.
Candidates have the opportunity to appear for multiple attempts to improve their TCS iON NPT Score on repurchases.
TCS iON NPT Certificate will be provided on achieving more than the passing score. For candidates who score less than the passing score, only scores will be notified.
Candidates with TCS iON NPT Certification can apply for jobs on the TCS iON Job Listing Portal, as well as on other job portals using this certificate.

1. What is TCS iON National Proficiency Test (TCS iON NPT)? +

TCS iON National Proficiency Test (TCS iON NPT) is a certification test that assesses a candidate's competencies and skills. Candidates who score more or equal to the passing score will get the TCS iON NPT Certificate along with their Scorecard (Please refer to the individual TCS iON NPT product pages for details on passing score). For candidates who score less than the passing score, only scores will be notified. The TCS iON NPT will be conducted every 2-4 weeks. Candidates can take the test again to improve their performance and get certified, if desired.

Note:

All tests will be conducted in English language only and there will be no negative marking.
Candidates who have appeared for TCS iON NPT earlier and were unable to qualify for the certification, can purchase the TCS iON NPT Variant(s) again and appear for the upcoming tests.
Candidates will be able to view/edit their details and add test(s) before the application closure date.

2. When and how frequently will TCS iON NPT be conducted? +

TCS iON NPT will be conducted every 2-4 weeks. Once you register for TCS iON NPT, the exam date and time will be communicated through an email, 2 days prior to the exam. You can check the TCS iON NPT exam dates on the respective webpage as well.

3. When will the applications close for TCS iON NPT? +

For every TCS iON NPT, applications will close 10-15 days prior to the exam date.

4. How do I apply for TCS iON NPT? +

1. Click on the "Buy Now" or "Activate Now" button on the TCS iON NPT webpage.
2. Login with your TCS iON Digital Learning Hub credentials or sign up as a new user.
3. After login/sign up, you will be asked to share your details required to complete your registration process. This includes your name, email ID, phone number and other details.
4. In case of Buy Now: On successful submission of the registration form, you need to proceed to make the payment by clicking on "Click to Pay/Activate Code". The Hall Ticket will be issued only on the successful purchase of the exam.
5. In case of Activate Now: A pop-up window will open. Enter the License Code and click on the "Activate" button. You will be asked to share your details required to complete the application form. This includes your name, email ID, phone number and other details. Once the activation code and your details are successfully submitted, click on "Get Started" and you can view the purchased variant in "My Dashboard".
6. You will receive a successful registration message on your registered email ID/mobile number.
7. The assessment will be conducted ONLY In-Centre at TCS iON Authorised Exam Centres. You will receive the Hall Ticket on your email ID, 2 days prior to the assessment.
8. Repeat the process from step 4 for the purchase of every new TCS iON NPT Variant.

5. Who can apply for the TCS iON NPT? +

Anyone aspiring to get certified in trending technologies.
Students who are in their pre-final or final year, pursuing any degree.
Freshers and working professionals who would like to prove their skills required by the industry.
Anyone who is looking for a career change or better opportunities with a higher package.

6. Do I need to apply separately for jobs on the company/corporate portal for recruitment? +

Yes, with TCS iON NPT Certificate you can apply to various companies/corporates for 2 years. Candidates who wish to apply to a specific company/corporate need to apply separately on the corresponding company/corporate's job portal. Applications for recruitment will be called for independently by the recruiting company/corporate as per their standard process and eligibility norms. You can also apply to jobs posted on the TCS iON Job Listing Portal. You can update your profile by clicking on “Edit Profile” in “My Dashboard”. TCS iON NPT certified candidates can also apply for companies or jobs that are not listed on the TCS iON Job Listing Portal by adding the certificate to their profile.

7. What are the different modes of assessment available? +

TCS iON NPT will be conducted in In-Centre mode at TCS iON Authorised Exam Centres PAN India.

Note:

If there are restrictions due to COVID-19, In-Centre mode of test will be postponed. In such cases, candidates will be notified and given another chance to appear when the next In-Centre test is scheduled.

8. When and how will I receive the Hall Ticket? +

Once you complete your application process, either by making the online payment or by using the Activation Code, you will receive the Hall Ticket. The Hall Ticket will be sent to your registered email ID 2 days prior to the exam. In case you do not receive your Hall Ticket 2 days prior to the exam, you can connect with us through Live Chat for immediate response.

9. Where can I view my completed application details? +

You can view the application details on the TCS iON NPT webpage once you log in by clicking on the "View Details" button. You can edit your application for each exam session before the application closure date for the respective session (10-15 days prior to the exam date).

10. Some of the details in my application form are incorrect. Can I edit my submitted application, or should I apply again? +

No, you do not need to apply again. Login with your TCS iON NPT credentials and go to "My Products" under "My Dashboard". The TCS iON NPT Variants that you have purchased will be displayed, and you can click on the variant details to go to the individual pages. Click on the "Buy Now" button, to open your application form in "Edit" mode and make the necessary changes. Click on the "Submit" button for the changes to reflect.
The TCS iON NPT Variants are listed on the main webpage. You can select the TCS iON NPT Variant of your choice and click on "Buy Now" or "Activate Now".

11. How will the results be communicated? +

After you complete the test, results will be processed and your scores will be shared to your registered email ID provided during the application. You can also check and download your Scorecard by clicking on View Past Results link on the banner image. Candidates who score more or equal to the passing score will get the TCS iON NPT Certificate along with their Scorecard (Please refer to the individual TCS iON NPT product pages for details on passing score). For candidates who score less than the passing score, only scores will be notified.

12. Is there any cut-off score or percentage to pass the TCS iON NPT? +

Yes, there is a cut-off score for passing TCS iON NPT. Please refer to the individual TCS iON NPT product pages for details on passing score. Candidates who achieve the passing score will get the TCS iON NPT Certificate along with their Scorecard. However, candidates who could not achieve the passing score can reappear for the same TCS iON NPT Variant by repurchasing the product to improve their scores and avail the certificate.

13. What are the next steps after getting a TCS iON NPT Certificate? +

You can apply to any company that recognises the TCS iON NPT Certificate and use your TCS iON NPT registration number and certificate in the job application form of that company.
You can view the list of corporates who have acknowledged the TCS iON NPT Certificate on the TCS iON NPT Variant webpage.
You can directly apply to the corporate for jobs with your TCS iON NPT Certificate if you meet their eligibility criteria.
You can apply on the TCS iON Job Listing Portal.
Candidates with TCS iON NPT Certificates can also apply for jobs outside of the TCS iON Job Listing Portal.

14. Will TCS iON share my TCS iON NPT Certificate with all the companies to help me get a job? Will TCS iON arrange job interviews for me? +

TCS iON will not arrange for any job interviews. You need to apply to the companies yourself. Your TCS iON NPT Certificate will be shared only with those companies that you have applied for and when they ask for it.
You can view the list of corporates who have acknowledged the TCS iON NPT Certificate on the webpage.
In addition, you can apply on the TCS iON Job Listing Portal, as this privilege is given only for the candidates who have appeared for TCS iON NPT.

Note:

Each company's eligibility/filtering/selection criterion is based on the rules defined by them on the levels of different abilities required for a job and may also have additional eligibility/filtering/selection criteria.

15. How long will my TCS iON NPT Certificate be valid? Can I take another attempt to improve my scores and avail the certificate? +

Your TCS iON NPT Certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of result publishing.
There is no limit on the number of attempts. You can purchase the next TCS iON NPT again to improve your TCS iON NPT Scores and be eligible to get a certificate.

Note:

You can purchase the same TCS iON NPT Variant only after 90 days of your last purchase.

16. What happens if I am unable to appear for TCS iON NPT In-Centre mode OR not able to complete the exam successfully? +

If you are not able to appear or complete the exam due to any reason solely attributable to you on the allotted date and time, no refund will be issued, and no retest will be conducted. You can repurchase and take the next TCS iON NPT, in the next cycle, as and when the dates are announced.

17. I have purchased the product, can I transfer the Hall Ticket or use the Hall Ticket for the next exam? +

Your exam will be scheduled based on the exam session selected in the application form. You can modify the exam session before the application form closure date. Once the Hall Ticket/exam details are shared with you on email, it can neither be transferred nor can be used for the next exam session. You need to appear for the exam as per the dates mentioned in the Hall Ticket or exam details sent on email.

18. What happens to candidates who had indulged in malpractice? +

Candidates who had indulged in any type of malpractice will not be permitted to take the exam for a period of 1 year and your certificate will be WITHHELD.

19. What is a Prepaid Licence Code? +

Corporates/Institutions/Companies who partner with TCS iON can purchase Licence Codes at a discounted price for all TCS iON NPT exams. Candidates will receive the Licence Codes on their registered email ID either from TCS iON or from the partner. They need to click on the "Activate Now" button on the TCS iON NPT Variant pages, and complete the application form. On the payment screen, instead of making the payment, click on "Activate Now" and enter the Licence Code. The TCS iON NPT Variant will get subscribed and will be displayed in "My Dashboard". If candidates are using a Prepaid Licence Code, they need not make any payment as the partner would have already made the payment to TCS iON.
